ARCHIVE 2006: Thursday @ 9:30am
Hey Prayer Team,
I got an update from Tim filling me in on the last few days and what is in store for the next few. One praise is that team unity is still thriving. One prayer request is they still have some with stomach issues.
On Tuesday they spent the day in the village of Santa Anna doing medical and their other ministries. What is extra cool about this is 5 yrs ago the villagers of Santa Anna rejected having a team come because they were evangelicals. The Lord opened up the door for the team because of the medical team. The president of Santa Anna's wife became sick and he knows that medical assistance out in the villages is rare so he invited the team to come.
On Wednesday they visited two villages. I learned from Tim that the region they are in is experiencing flooding which is effecting many villages and also hindering some of their work. They still were able to get to the village of Santa Grasso in the morning to minister to the people and then in the afternoon they went to the village of Santa Elizia. That night they had a church service in Santa Elizia. Only a few showed up but the Lord moved mightily and 8 to 10 people professed faith in Christ!
Thursday has turned out to be a rest day for the team. They are traveling back towards Manaus all day but will stop in a village called Novo Rem Maso on the way. Friday was supposed to be their rest/travel day but since they are doing that today they will be able to minister to villages off of the Rio Negro as they travel back to Manaus.
Keep praying that the Lord will move mightily through the team and that He would guide their travels. This blog is more overview of the events of the team but start preparing yourself for what I know will be awesome stories that God is allowing each of the team members to be a part of. Hopefully we will get to post some of those stories here.
Agape,
Chris Truax
