Making His Name Known Among the Nations....

"Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Publish His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does." Psalm 96:1-3

Ready to Serve!

Bom dia!

All is well on the JJ Mesquita, the team's mode of transportation (and more) while they're in the Amazon jungle. It's also where they sleep, eat, shower, fellowship, etc. In case you haven't seen the posts from last week's team, to the right is a picture of the boat. The bottom deck contains a pharmacy, rooms for the medical & dental teams to treat patients, a kitchen where all the meals are prepared and boarding for boat crew and Brazilian team. The second deck contains boarding for the North American team, a common area for dining and fellowship, and the captain's seat. The top deck is sometimes used for evening devotionals or just a place to seek solitude.

Everyone is doing well and is excited and ready to work today! They traveled all night Sunday and all day yesterday on the Solimeus River, the complete opposite direction from last week's trip, and arrived in their first village early this morning called Irixi.

All of the ministry teams will have a chance to love on and serve the villagers today. The VBS team will be with the kids singing songs, telling a bible story, making some sort of craft and playing with the kids. The women's team will help educate the women about proper health and hygiene. The sports team will play soccer with the young men of the villages. And finally, the medical/dental team will treat those that need medical attention. Through each of these ministry teams, the intention is to build relationships in order to share Christ.

How can you pray for the team today?

- Boldness and comfort as they get uncomfortable talking through a translator to share the Good News.

- Praise God for safe travels with the river being so high. The team saw an entire town flooded so be praying for the people that are without homes or a place to go.

- Pray for the the Lord to work in the hearts of those who will hear the Gospel. Pray for them to be moved by the Holy Spirit, to be eternally impacted by the love and deeds of the team (both N. Americans and Brazilians).

- Praise God for the translators!

Thanks for checking in and thanks for praying!

Have a blessed day,

But what does it say? The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,"that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
Romans 10:8-15
