Making His Name Known Among the Nations....

"Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves. Publish His glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things He does." Psalm 96:1-3

Team Arrives in Manaus

Good morning!
The team arrived in Manaus around midnight and we want to thank you for your prayers for safe travels thus far and for protecting the donation bags as they all made it through security. If you're wondering why some bags wouldn't make it through...all bags must be screened before you are allowed to exit the airport. Typically one or two bags are pulled aside after being screened because the medical/dental supplies are noticed and the security officers want to double check that we're not bringing anything illegal or unsafe into the country. We bring over large containers of ipubrofen, vitamins, antibiotics, cortizone/neosporin type creams, saline solution and other supplies for the medical/dental team. With the labels being in English and the officers not speaking/reading much English, they have the ability to confiscate the items if they aren't comfortable with our explanation of what the items are used for.

So - thanks for the prayers about the dontation items!

Today the team will do a little site seeing in Manaus and rest up one last time in a comfy bed before they hop on the boat tomorrow for the long journey into the jungle to begin the work the Lord has called them to.

How can you pray for the team today?

A time to rest today.

Team unity.

Pray that God will do a mighty work in the hearts of the lost. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has glinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor 4:3-6

Blessings,

Getting Out of Our Comfort Zone

Welcome! And welcome back to some of you!

It's hard to believe, but the time is finally here! Our Watermark Young Adults team is headed back to the Amazon Jungle. I am so excited about this trip even though it means leaving behind my wife & two dogs. Our team of 18 young adults has been training & preparing for this day for the last 7 months & it is finally here.

Why in the world do we want to leave air conditioning & the comforts of Dallas? To share God's love with the people in the Amazon Jungle. As the headline of this post says, Psalm 96 "Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples!" We all at one time have seen the danger of people who use "religious systems" to manipulate people & our desire is to share with the people of Brazil that true freedom comes only from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

How can you pray for us:

Pray that God is glorified by our team & time in Brazil.

Pray for safety for our team

Unity, humility & servant hearts as we seek to serve & come alongside our partner church in
Brazil

Pray that all our flight connections make it on time

Pray for open doors for us to share the saving love of Christ

Pray that our team will be forever changed & that we will have a new appreciation for how AWESOME OUR GOD IS!
Thanks for your prayers & check in often as we will be calling from a satellite phone to give updates.
